I was horrified to hear a Minister state in a budget speech that the Government had protected young people, old people and the vulnerable because the statistics from the Central Statistics Office tell a completely different story, the real story. The truth is that old people, young people and the vulnerable have been the least catered for in this Budget; whereas big business, multinational corporations, and the wealthy have been given the red carpet treatment at the expense of the Irish people.
