The housing issue, the lack of housing, is making the headlines with very sad stories of people, especially families with children, being homeless. It is a crisis and it is worsening.
At Private Members’ time this week in the Dáil, The Technical Group will be introducing and debating a motion on the housing crisis; it will put it up to the government to respond and with real answers to solve the problem. Here is the press release:
Technical Group to Raise Homelessness Crisis in Dáil
Some members of the Dáil Technical Group will, this week, table a Private Members Motion, to be heard on Wednesday and Thursday, which will address the current homelessness crisis across the country. The Motion raises the housing issue from the perspectives of social housing tenants, private renters and mortgagees and seeks to highlight the difficulties facing those struggling to find and/or finance suitable accommodation and the resulting stresses being placed on an under resourced housing sector.
