I welcome this restoration to repair the damage done to this historic area, sections of which were allowed fall into decay.
The project will reinstate the formal gardens and introduce tearooms and a bandstand.
However it is vital, there will be meaningful consultation with those groups – childcare, community and sports – which are to be moved.
Work is due to begin in the coming months with the restoration of the railings.
