I had a further chance today to put pressure on the Government to address the gross disproportionate cuts of 38% to the Community Groups working in the Inner City. Minister for Environment Alan Kelly has confirmed to me that he will meet the groups in question and try and work out a solution to this problem I have been highlighting for some time now. More on this to follow in the near future. One example I used was the fact that I was at a graduation recently and a number of graduates could not attend as they were in work showing that Community Employment Schemes are working but will not be able to continue their vital work if this massive cuts are to be continued.
